We are delighted to launch a new series of maternal and newborn health and nutrition animations today, as we mark the start of the Global Nutrition for Growth Summit in Paris.
Created in partnership with Living Goods and the Children’s Investment Foundation Fund, the animations provide vital information for women and their communities around diet and supplementation in pregnancy, the importance of attending antenatal and postnatal care services and exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months.
The animations were integrated into a health counselling initiative led by Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in Busia, Kenya which subsequently saw significant rises in earlier ANC attendance, reported adherence to iron and folic acid supplements, exclusive breastfeeding, improved diets and supportive male engagement. The use of animation was widely welcomed and appreciated by mothers and by CHPs.
Global malnutrition rates remain stubbornly high – we need ambitious and accountable nutrition commitments that will change and save lives. Medical Aid Films and its partners commit to the vision that every woman, child and community has regular access to enough nutritious food.

“For me, the day my Community Health Promoter visited, I appreciated it because my partner was around and was able to watch the videos. Immediately after, he started bringing fruits and foods that I was supposed to eat. Even now, he continues to bring them. Before the videos, he was bringing very few fruits, but after watching, he understood their importance.”
